if you are in Virginia I have a wonderful doctor for you
If you will provide us your location, perhaps a member can recommend a good thyroid doctor in your area.
A lot of us have had good luck with our doctors. You just have to keep looking until you find the one who is willing to work with you. We've had members who have gone through several doctors, before they found one who would actually listen and work to alleviate symptoms.
You can often "pre-interview" doctors, often via a nurse, to find out how they treat thyroid patients. Questions to ask are what tests they run on a routine basis ( should be TSH, Free T3 and Free T4), whether they are willing to prescribe whatever medication helps to alleviate symptoms, including desiccated and T3 only med (answer should be yes) and whether or not they are willing to look at symptoms more so than labs (answer should be yes).
Just for your information, e-mail addresses are bleeped automatically, as is certain other personal contact information. This is for your own safety.
