will keep you posted
just checking everything out because it was left sided pain gp suggested neurologist, they also do muscles and the nerves of muscles
Carpal tunnel, Fibromyliga and joint pain are all consistent with being Hypo. Many people when treated properly for Thyroid these symptoms are minimized or eliminated. Not saying it WILL happen. Just that there is a correlation. In fact many people believe that Firbo is simply un or under treated Hypo because the Dr's will not believe that a test number "somewhere in the range" rules out Hypo. Especially TSH which is almost worthless as it is so unreliable.
hi i hope it works out for you keep me posted why are you seeing a neurolgist is your symtoms anthing to do with the brain dont quite get that.
hi think levo and eltroxin are the same,my gp says pains etc hypo plus low ferrtin and vit d can do the same , i am seeing a neurolgist to rule out things but i do think its all hypo as i have only had since july 11 when dx ,i am only on vit d a month so hopefully that will work
hi do you think the symtoms are from deficients of ferrtin and vit D how long have you had your symtoms for? has your doctor given any help in finding out whats going on. I have never heard of eletroxin my doctor only give out levoth hope we all find the answer life would be so much nicer
hi there,
i have similar symptoms as you i am on 125 eletroxin, legs ankles knee,s arms in agon, i am deficient in ferrtin and vit D.
I seen a neurologist and am about to post on that
Fibromyalgia is a set of unexplained symptoms, that often go away with adequate thyroid hormones.
thanks barbs i will go back next week and ask my doctor,I had rheumatiod factor only a few mounth ago my doctor said we have to rule all other factors first then the only thing it could be is fibromyligia if not i will phone around and find a new doctor.
The tests above do not include iron/ferritin or vitamin D, so we can't say you're low in those, unless you've posted them in another thread. I'm not sure of the range for the B12 posted above, but your level is pretty close to mid range; most doctors would consider that adequate; however, I have to keep mine at the top of the range in order to feel well. B12 deficieincy is not noted for causing joint pain.
I'm sorry, I do recall that you are in UK. Thank you for the reminder.
Which test did you have for RA? Was it the rheumatoid factor? How long ago was it? If the test was inconclusive, you might have had RA, it just wasn't showing up yet. You could ask for it again, or you could ask for the ANA.
The FT3 and FT4 are most important, but we know it's hard to get those in UK, particularly, the FT3.
thanks for info i have hashimoto's i am on 125mg levoth i started on 25mg 3yr ago and have been going up ever since but i have had loads of symtoms like the swelly belly which now they belive to be IBS so let me get this right due to my test results above i am low in vitamin D and B12 Irion/ferrintin. Please advice Ihave had test for Rheumatiod Arthritis the doctor said it not concluive to say i have it and said take pain killer and if it get worst get anther refural also was tested for carpole tunnel syndrom but was clear so i will go back and ask for test but which one apart from FT3 and FT4 should i push for if he dont do these you all say i should find a doctor that will Oh by the way i am in london uk thanks to all.
Agree that you need the FT3 and FT4, along with thyroid antibody tests and a new doctor.
Are you currently on a thyroid medication? If so, which one, what dosage? How long have you been on it?
Because there are several autoimmune diseases that could be the cause of your constant pain, I would also suggest that you get an ANA (Antinuclear Antibody) test. Positive ANA will indicate an autoimmune disease, so your doctor would then have to test to determine which one. Ones to look for include, but are not limited to, Rheumatoid Arthritis (you should get RF test done), Lupus and MS.
A test from 2 years ago may as well be 2,000 years ago.
I would find another Dr.
TSH alone is inconclusive. You really need Free T4 and Free T3 levels done. I would also recommend the Hashimoto's antibody tests which are TPOab and TGab. It is also common for people who are low thyroid to also be low in Vitamin D and B-12 and iron/ferritin so it may makes sense to add those to the list. They are also fatiguing if low on those as well.
