oh I am not taking the cortisol - even tried to take 1/2 the dosage (.125) and stopped taking. It is like deciding of the lesser of two evils...taking the cortisol and swelling so much it hurts or dealing with the nodding off when driving. But this is not every day and not severe, so stopped taking the cortisol. Doc knows I have stopped taking too.
Thanks Stella,
I did seem to feel a bit better when they added the T3, but it didn't last very long as I recall...they did test the RT3 and it is 17 (range 11-32). I never had a reading when they suspected I was reversing, so not sure if this is down from what it was.
I forgot to mention they thought my adrenals needed support, and put me on a low dosage of cortisol. But it seems to make me swell too much. Swelling and fluid retention is what I deal with tooooo much so not sure what to do here....or if I need it....they didn't test my cortisol levels, just felt like I needed it because of my symptoms I guess.
I am just so frustrated...have an extra 10 pounds on me that will not go away no matter what I do!! Thanks again for the advise. I am glad to have someone to talk to about this!
I see your FT3 being a tad too low. I bet this is why your doctor wants to keep you on the T3 and add the 30 extra. It looks to me like he wants to raise both the FT4 and FT3 and that is why you are getting the increase of 1/2 grain w/ keeping the free T3
How are you feeling after they added the T3? Where is your RT3 lab results to either confirm or eliminate Reverse T3 storage?
How long have you been on the 15 mg T3? If you are concerned about the low TSH, it may need more time to level out.
When my Levo was increased from 50 to 75, the Dr. wanted a blood test at 8 days. My TSH
went from 2.8 to 0.9. Two weeks later TSH was 1.8 - it doubled.
Your FT3 is mid-range. This is good. Your FT4 is too low, so you need more Westhroid.
Make one little change at a time and give your body time to adjust or you could go hyper.
