Advice

Need advise from anyone.

I was on 88 mcg of Synthroid for 6 weeks and Chromagen Forte (iron supplement).  My TSH was 1.51.  I was feeling pretty good except that I wasn't sleeping very well and constipated.  So I quit the Chromagen for 1 week and retested my TSH and it is  now 2.54.  First of all, could being off of the iron for 1 week have caused my TSH to go up that much?

So, after being off of the iron for 1 week, I increased my Synthroid to 100 mcg.  I have been on the increased dose for 1 week.  I am not feeling great.  Moody, slightly depressed, tired.  Do you think this is just the adjustment period for changing doses, or do you think I need to go back to the 88 mcg and the iron.  I am so confused as you can tell.

my daughter is 16 years old and has hashimoto's disease her levels are mest up. I commented you of the levels already. I forgot to mention that my daughter is having extremely cold hands and feet to the point of using a heating pad at night to keep them warm. Do you have any information on what could be causing these symptoms.                                                                                                                  Thanks.                                                                                                                      KCD66

I'm not too sure you should be adjusting your meds on your own...I think you should have your TSH checked by a doctor and have them determine the right dosage...I know it takes 4-6 weeks at a time to adjust the meds...
