Morning chest aches

Hello all!

I'm hypo/hashi - have been taking levothyroxine (25 mcg, 1st month; 50 mcg, next two months) in the morning, as I wake up with water. About 15 - 20 minutes after taking my meds, I've started noticing (within the last month & a half) that I get a dull pain in the area of my left breast - it feels like it's almost IN my breast, or just below it. I used to get pretty nasty heart burn a few years ago, but have leveled out my diet & exercise and usually do not get heart burn anymore.

My question is this: is this heartburn?

I'm mostly confused because this is usually after not having eaten ANYTHING since the evening before. Can the water trigger this feeling?

It usually goes away after about half an hour or so. I'm just interested to know.

Thanks!

Could be, or it could be a symptom. I have anxiety when i first wake up patially due to my thyroid giving my a sore throat.  So its a no win situation for me. I have heartburn too, but thats not the tightness I feel:) I feel better after about an hour of taking my pills, drops my levels down.

Thank you for that! I guess the next questions then would be...

1. should I be taking my meds with something else to prevent this little bout of morning discomfort and...

2. is this something that can cause damage if it's prolonged?

cheers!

Water is a very think liquid and can trigger reflux!  Esp on an empty stomach!  That coupled with any med can cause heartburn but I'm not a doc .. just a patient like you on Synthroid.

I am also on an anti inflammatory and at times I get real heartburn after eating .. like immedaitely, but that's a side effect of Mobic med .. I'm fine on Synthroid but I can relate.
