Feel hyper from synthroid?

I recently tested at 17 tsh Free  T3 2.8 and Free T4 1.1.

The doc raised me from 88 mcg to 125.

After 10 days I felt wired when I got in bed for 3 days and agitated.

I dropped it to 100 mcg on my own.

The agitation went away but now I feel hypo again.

Is it possible I could get hyper after just 9 days on the new dose?

Nice, thank you!

I was thinking pretty much the same thing, I was going to call and ask him if I could cut to 112 mcg and if he could call it in.

Happy Holidays!

I suspect you only did what the doctor would have told you to do if you'd asked him first.  The last time I was overmedicated, my endo told me to take three days off with no meds then resume my previous dose.

Of course, it's going to take some more time for your levels to fully reflect the cut back to 100 mcg.  Do you have a variety of different dosage tablets to play with?  If you start feeling hypo again, you might try another increase of 12.5.  You can get 112.5 by alternating 100 and 125 or splitting each and taking half of each everyday.

We don't have reference ranges for you, but your FT4 doesn't look all that bad (guessing a bit, of course).  If I were you, I wouldn't increase beyond 112.5 until follow up blood work is done to see what that's done to your labs.  Your most likely in the middle third of the range right now, so small changes can make a big difference.

Sometimes it doesn't take that long.  I believe I mentioned to you before that an increase of 37 mcg all at once was a pretty big increase.  Typically, adjustments are made in 12.5-25 mcg increments.

How long has it been since you dropped back to 100?  You may find you need to be at 125 ultimately, but you might have to do that in more than one step.
