I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's in September of 2008, The MD at that time told me my thyroid was not enlarged and started me on 75 MG Levothyroxine, he later upped it to 100 MG, I was not doing ant better so in Jan of 2009 I went to an Endocrinologist he confirmed I had Hashimoto's and took me off of the generic levothyroxine, my ths was around 5.5-6.0 He started me on synthroid 1.0MG, now last month he reduced it to 88mg because my ths was now lower than it should be, I have all the symptoms of Hashimoto's (Not Just a couple) I get muscle cramps that jump around from day to day, and my neck is stiff and achey most of the time, I get cramps in the calves of my legs, aches in my hips and legs at night in bed. Without sleep medication I would only sleep 2 hours and cant manage to go back to sleep. I also go through periods of a constant runny nose in the mornings that some days last for most of the day, my Doctor says this symptom is not related, although It did not occure until I started on the thyroid medication.
Sorry about the drawn out statement, My question is "Is there folks out there that are having the same symptoms as mine? And how long do you have to be on the hormones before the symptoms start easing up, it seems to me mine are getting worse instead of better. Any info would be appreciated. Thank You
