My thyroid ultrasound reads:

No abnormal thyroid enlargement.
3 mm cyst in the right thyroid lobe. 11 mm hypoechoic complex cyst versus nodule within the left side of the isthmus. No prior comparison. Recommend followup in 6 to 12 months.
Is there any indication to what types of cysts they are? Are 6 to 12 months a bit too long to wait?

The fluid filled benign cysts smaller than 2.5 cm in size are treated with ethanol ablation. The benign nodule smaller than 2 cm is usually left alone (not treated)

Thank you very much for your response. I am quite worried. My blood results are normal; within the range. What would my cure options be if the cyst does not change in size in 6 months?

3 mm cyst has no clinical significance .
11 mm nodule should be looked under power Doppler flow.
If no internal blood flow noted, it is usually safe to re-check it after 6 months or 1 year, provided that now your lymph nodes are normal..
