Results on Biopsy

My results came back today, no cancer!! My Endo wants me to have another Thyroid scan. He wants to make sure my 1.7 cm nodule is not cold. Why would he want this scan done again when my biopsy came back okay. Also he wants me to have another ultrasound in 6 mths and another FNA in a year to make sure it's not growing

I've heard that cold nodules are more likely to be cancerous than hot ones which is why he might want to be sure. It sounds like he's doing a good job in watching it closely!! congrats on the FNA results!
