i agree with goolarra...25mg T3 med is really high and would cause anxiety too.
Call your doctor and ask for the results of your free T3, free T4 and TSH tests. At the same time, ask for the reference range on the FT3 and FT4. We have to look at exact numbers and make sure FT3 and FT4 were run, and not just TSH.
25 mcg is quite a large dose of Cytomel. Cytomel is T3, which is approximately four times more powerful that T4 meds like Synthroid. So, you just increased your meds the equivalent of 100 mcg of Symthroid. That's a big increase all at once. In addition to being powerful, T3 is also very fast acting, so most people who take Cytomel split their dose in to at least two. Often half is taken in the morning with Synthroid, and the other half is taken when your metabolism needs a boost. Early afternoon? Late afternoon? Whatever works best for you.
The most important thing for you to do right now is find out your lab results and post them. We can comment a lot more intelligently after seeing those and making sure your doctor isn't just testing TSH.
Do you have any lab results that you can post, along with the reference ranges that you can post?
I am also on synthroid 137mcg. Im not sure which one was which but one of them was in the 40's. We have been trying to level this out for 10 YEARS. I am so frustrated with the hormonal swings and weight gain. I put on 30 pounds last year (7 of those in 1 week). I have tightened my diet, exercise, but the fatigue level makes it very difficult. It seems the medication changes every 6 weeks and is never stable
Anxiety is a side effect of Cytomel. Why are you on Cytomel alone and not combined with a T4 med? You should not be as anxious as you are.
Do you know hat your free T3, free T4 and TSH were prior to starting Cytomel?
Do you take your Cytomel in one dose or split it?
