Need help today with total t3 or freet3,

Hello,
I am having my yearly labs done tomorrow, I called to ask my endo if he would add in addition to Tsh a freet4 and freet3, vitamin d and b12.  He agreed and said I could add them onto the lab slip that I already have. My question is, is it better to have a total t3 or a free t3.  I have been having many hypo symptoms, dizziness(new), muscle pains, fatigue etc.  I want to make to be able to have the full picture on my results when I see him.
Thanks in advance for any input.

I would go with the free t3. not total.

This is from Labtestsonline:

"Since most of the T3 is bound to protein, the total T3 can be affected by protein levels and protein binding ability, but the free T3 is not."

Both T3 and T\Free T3 are important and depend on what you want to look at. I suggest along with your TSH having the Free T3 and the Free T4 ran. And you are hypo - I would also suggest a cholestrol.
