New symptom.....Night sweats! Help!

Okay, for the past three nights I've woken up once or twice sweating to death. And it is not hot in my house. Actually, last night it was in the 40s outside and we had the air on. I'm talking drenched in sweat from my head to my toes.  I had my hormones tested at my last blood check (I'm 41) and have no other symptoms of menopause.  3 weeks ago I had an increase in my synthroid. Could I maybe be going hyper?  I do not feel well. I feel like I'm aware of my heart beating. I'm angry, shaky, dry mouth, etc.  Going in on thursday for blood work but I'm wondering what could be going on. I don't do night sweats, it doesn't work for me!

Well, I'm going for blood work on thursday and then my appt. on Monday and I'm gonna be asking LOTS of questions.  My doctor likes to tell me that some of the things I'm experiencing have nothing to do with the thyroid thing. When I called about the dry mouth he said it was totally unrelated and to call my dentist. My dentist assured me that it was related.  He also told me that my hairloss was unrelated to anything thyroid related. HAHAHAHA, I laugh at that.  Yeah right, just a big fat coincidence that everytime my meds are changed my hair falls out. But it has NOTHING to do with it!  Ummm, okay doc.  Then I just come home and get on here and find out he's an idiot.

Since my dose was put up from 75mcgs to 100mcgs I have been having hot flashes and wake up two or three a night just burning up.  When I told the doctor about it he just brushed it aside and said that it was obviously the menopause starting.  This is rubbish because I had not been having any other symptoms  before that, I just know it has been caused by the thyroxine tablets.  I came out of there with a brochure on menopause (like I don't know all about that anyway) and feeling very angry.

My guess is that I was on too high of a dose of the Synthroid and he lowered it. I guess lowering it is "suppose" to get me unsupressed. I have an appt this Thursday with a  second Dr and my visit is to go and ask alot of questions! I will let you know what happens. My dr wont answer any of my questions, so I took the liberty of finding a dr that will. WE deserve that much!!

So what does that mean that your T4 was suppressed and how does it get un-suppressed???  Is this where the Armour comes in that everyone keeps talking about?

I have been on the meds for 24 days and last week I started to get all these symptoms too! The heart palps. Went in for labs and was toldmy T4 was suppressed and I was hyper. I was on 125mcg of Synthroid and now 88. I started that 3 days ago.

Went from 125 mcg of Levoxyl to 150 of Synthroid.  Been on it exactly 27 days and just started feeling icky in the past week or so. The other night I could swear people around me could hear my heart beating.  And while I feel very on edge, cranky, and out of sorts, I also have the muscle fatigue I had being very hypo.  This is really starting to get on my last nerve.

What was the increase? I think its a possibility that you are feeling the up-dose. Its good that you are going in on Thursday for labs! Mention this to your Dr if it conts...

Dr just lowered my dose because I was having the heart palps, irritable and anxiety. He said I was hyper!!
