Midrange on your FT4 range is 1.1, and midrange on your FT3 is 3.2.
You figure it like this:
lower end of range + upper end of range / 2
2.5 + 3.9 / 2 = 3.2
Your FT3 is a little low, but your FT4 is really low. Both have to be in a good balance for us to feel well. Now that you're on both T3 and T4, you might have an entirely different experience with increasing your levo than you had when on levo alone. Be sure to increase slowly.
Hi and thank you. Just curious does the ranges mean t4 should be around 1-1.3 and t3sgould be like 3.60? When I went up on levo I felt soooooo sluggish and shacky and cytomel is the only pill I've taken that seems to help. Should I change levothyroxine? Thank you for your help so much. This is such a lonely road.
"I'm on 15 mg of cytomel and I was on 50mcg of levothyroxine. I am debating should I drop my dosage if levo or up my cytomel."
Your FT4 is at 11% of range. 50% is the rule of thumb for FT4. Your FT3 is at 39% of range, and upper half of range is recommended here.
While both are low, FT4 needs to be increase more, and you will likely get some increasse in FT3 by increasing T4 meds. I'd leave Cytomel alone and increase levo.
Hi I do split the doses. I take half at 8am and 12pm. And my ranges are:
Free t3 3.05 (2.50-3.90)
Free t4 .72 (.61-1.60)
Tsh .67 (.49-4.67)
I'm wondering should i up my cytomel?
Thanks
Please post the refeence ranges for your tests. Ranges vary lab to lab, so you have to report them with results so we have a basis for evaluation.
