Newbie here with thyroid cysts

I posted this below but am a little anxious & am thinking maybe it's being skipped over just because of where it is on the board.  It does have a new title that I would have happily just edited, but I didn't see an option for that, so....

About a month after getting a positive pregnancy test last fall (our second baby), I discovered a lump in my neck around Thanksgiving.  I thought it may just be a swollen lymph node, so waited until my first prenatal visit to say anything.  She sent me to my GP who ordered blood work & US & sent me to an ENT.  US discovered two lumps.  The one on my right & another of similar side on the left, but lower & deeper so hard to feel.  ENT  did an FNA on the right one because it had some solid in it...he thinks the 'solid' was actually blood because the FNA sample was pink.  Said the pregnancy could have caused the bleeding, which could have caused the growth & that's why I found it.

FNA came back normal & he saw me again a few months into my pregnancy....ordered another US & repeat thyroid levels...no change, levels normal.  Wanted to see me again a few months after the baby was born.

I have a follow up scheduled for this coming Friday, about 3 months postpartum; however, I've developed some throat pain in the past few days.  The first day, I just thought I was getting sick since it's that time of year & my 2 year old had a fever (no other symptoms but hand foot & mouth going around at preschool).  I guess it could be HF&M with no other symptoms, but it started out feeling like one sore in my throat...not a sore throat, but a specific spot.  The second day, it felt like two spots, the second being near my more prominent cyst.

It feels like there's something stuck in my throat and it hurts to swallow...spit, food, anything more than a sip when drinking.  I noticed that my ear also hurts in connection to the throat at times.  Also, if I cough really good, the 'something caught in my throat' feeling goes away for the next swallow or two.  I watched a funny movie last night & it even hurt to laugh!

Do you think this could be thyroid related (the ENT wants to remove my cysts due to their size of over 2cm, but I'm tempted to get a 2nd opinion before anyone scars up my neck)?  Or maybe it is HF&M though I've had no fever or anything?  I'm willing to just see what happens between now & Friday, but I am a hungry breastfeeding mama & I need better calories than liquids can provide!  Thanks!

Hi, Right after I delivered my child I had some weired things happen. I was tired, and anxioius, and Then I became very lethargic, even my hair started to come out. I was told by my gyno, and my internist, its all normal part of postpartum, being a Medical asst., I knew something was going on. So, I went to an endocrinologist. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease. They monitored me very closely. After a few months the symptoms went away, and my thyroid went back to normal. If it did not, I would have started synthroid(no big deal) Just wanted to tell you that seeing an endocrinologist might answer some questions for you. Good luck with the baby. fg

My guess would be postpartum thyroiditis;
Before going for surgery consider PEI treatment for cysts[blood filled cysts are somehow better responded to PEI then colloid cysts].
