No Thyroid

I had my thyroid removed May 30th 2010. Endo doc said, parathyroid are not working. I am on 127mg Synthroid 5 2" and 126.  This endo will not consider any thing but Synthroid when I asked about Armor. I am tired and feel wired up have no energy and hard time sleeping. 6-8 lbs weight gain since may, hair falling out, Do not eat any more than I did before.
Also gave me 75 calcitrol -3000 calcium,1200 magnesium. I suspect my adrenal glands are overworked Test are as follows: T3 113.8    T3 Free 3.6   TSH .116
Testosterone 79.76
I have a NP that is willing to help me change meds
Help from doctor on website appreciated. Thanks

My NP Krista is a woman, She has scheduled me for a pelvis and abdominal ultrascan to check for adrenal problems. Plus my stomach hurts.  Doing this sept. 1st then will go back to NP, for further instructions.
I do want to know where to get the Armour thyroid medicine. Is there a website? Do you fax your script? I do not want to waste my time taking something that will not work.
Sorry to hear about your daughter which meds does she take ?

Thanks!

Just so you know-Armour was reformulated last year and recently the other U.S. desiccated brand (Nature-Throid) has followed. These meds have changed their fillers and binders and some here have had issues with the new formulas. My daughter was born without a thyroid gland. We are now using Canadian Erfa desiccated thyroid and doing well. It is like Armour's old (good) formula, before reformulation. If you decide to go with desiccated-then you should talk to the N.P. about writting a script for it. If he agrees it can be mailed within 14 days and is legal to do so. Just make sure you get in contact with us on who to use-so that you get Erfa thyroid and not something else. Also, can you post the ranges for your labs-it helps us to see exactly where you are falling within them. Thanks!
