No period??

Hi All! Its been 6 months since my TT and I havent had one missed period since all this mess. I was due for my period on the 13th and I have yet to get it. I was on 90 mgs of Armour and had labs done... labs came back as HYPER! 0.11 and 235. So Endo lowered to 75 and I am doing well on this dose. I felt great on the 90, but I was getting frequent heart palps daily so he lowered. Could this be the reason why I have yet to get period? I am concerned because I have never been late with my cycle unless I was pregnant. I took a aPG test as well. Came back negative.

I agree with TM514 in that you might just need time but do call your OB/GYN if you are concerned.

Like you, I had a TT and was told that with the medication the most important thing we need to strive for is stability - in what med we take, the amount of med we take and how we take it.  In other words, find a med with the most stability, take the same amount each day and do that in the exact same manner.

Please keep this in mind, as you dr probably is and should be doing.

Take care.

Hey Mick

I agree - it may be best to do an on / off Armour days..... meaning 90mg then 75mg next. I am finding if I have the flexability it helps alot.

I find I like to have the upped amount on the weekends.

Finally my period is returned back to the 21 days after 2 yrs of never knowing when - or how bad it would be.

and after 15 yrs of no acne ... guess who has zits again????

Hi there! Yes you can skip a period if you are hyper.....Dropping to 75 daily may be too big of a drop for you. If it is ask him if you can do 90- 5 days a week and 75- 2 days a week.  What was 235? What was the ranges with that?
Glad to see you are feeling better!

Hi MK,

Thyroid hormones do have an impact on the menstrual cycle, so yes, it is possible that your missing period is due to the change in medication.  After my TT, my doc changed my Synthroid dose up by 12.5 mcg and my period went missing for nearly 3 months!  Once my body adjusted to the new dose, everything else got back to normal as well.

If you are still concerned, it might be worth a call to your OB/Gyn just to check.
