Not sure what to do

I was diagnosed with thyroid nodules in September; one measuring 2 cm, other 1cm.  I had a FNB in Nov. that showed many follicular cells with hurthle changes.  I had to change endo. due to insurance.  The new endo repeated the sonogram.  The nodules have grown and now measure 6x4.8x 3cm and 4.3x3cm.  New endo wants me to have tt soon due to the rapid growth.  Does this sound right or should I look for new endo and different treatment?  I am concerned and not sure after all I have been reading.

My endo noticed an enlargement of my thyroid during a regular check up for my diabetes.  He then scheduled me for a sono which was preformed in Sept.   I have never taken thyroid medication or had been diagnosed with thyroid problems before.  This is all new to me.  My blood work appears to be normal from what i have been told.  I do have these fast growing nodules with follicular cells with hurthle changes.  My voice is beginning to be affected.  The size of my left lobe is 8x4.3x3.3 with a 6.2x4.1x2.8 nodule.  Right lobe is 6.2x2.2x1.9 cm with a 3.3x2.5x1.9 cm nodule.

I agree with ChitChatNine.  An appendectomy or D&C are pretty routine.  Glands are a whole different ballgame.  All ENT's aren't created equally, either.  You want somebody  as an ENT and as a surgeon, if surgery is required, who have worked on a kazillion of cases like yours, such as a l-a-r-g-e clinic that sees a lot more cases than your average university hospital, which usually see a lot.

Would you please tell us how you happened to have this diagnosis in Sept?  Did you have previous thyroid treatment?  Years? Months?  Were you having a general checkup when this was discovered?  Were you there to find the cause for certain symptoms that had been bothering you?  What were they?  How long had you had them?  I ask, because many of us who read these questions and comments have been taking thyroid medication for years.  Don't know about the rest of those reading, but I'd really like to know your answers.  Thanks in advance for sharing with us, but if you don't feel up to talking about it right now, we'll understand.  Keep us posted with your progress.
