Yes, 1.0 is optimal but not going to happen without an addiction to Ativan ... bcz the nodules were fully encapsulated, tiny, with no lymph node involvement or vascularity and incidental findings, my endo told me in the last visit that TSH < 2.0 is the goal they have set for me unless anything should ever change.
I have been as low as 0.667 and everything inbetween needing Ativan to sustain along with word retrieval issues and brain fog, too. Could not live like that at all .. it was really bad (anxiety and inability to speak properly!!).
They cannot do Thy Ca bloodwork cause I have the other side intact so I am producing even trace am't of thyroglobulin as I understand -- so it is a no-go for me as an indicator of anything brewing. That was the test you refer to, right? TPO ?
For all reading, I get terrible scar tissue problems so that is partly why we watch and monitor vs. going back in right away for the other side. They are afraid I could have awful larynx or nerve involvement if any of the scar tissue wraps itself around those organs. But for all reading I am in the minority but have history which indicates I produce mega scar tissue and do not heal properly which lends itself to much higher risk of adhesions forming after surgery, etc.
Thanks Stella .... *yawning* it is early and I"m on my way off to a football game!

We'll tater
I'll fit this one in this morning before I get moving.
YOU KNOW you should be at around a >1.0 - but we talked about that and your happy - so that is I suppose OK
Where's the ThyCa blood work?
It's confirmed that my ultrasound is STABLE nodule - no growth AND now I don't have to go back for 1 yr vs. the every 6mos I've been doing now for 2 yrs! YES!

WOO HOO! Glad to hear you are feeling well and especially that your US was good. It's so nice to have good news - congrats!!
Good for you, CC9! It's good to hear postitive results. I am in isolation right now after RAI-131 treatment. Thank God for computers, telephones, tvs and magazines. In a way, it's kind of fun. My husband is feeling it because he's doing so much more than usual, but it's temporary. I have no Endocrinologist because she went on medical leave, so the doctor at the hospital gave me a two week prescription for Levothyroxine. I really wanted Armour, but I had to take what I could get. I hope you stay feeling well.
Yeah!! Good for you. Glad you feel good. There is room for improvement if you start to feel yucky, so pay close attention to your body and don't settle for okay....you need to feel great!
PS: I await 6 mos serial ultrasound results which should be fine cause the tech knows me (I go ev. 6mos) and whispered to me that the nodule did not grow and no new ones in the gland, etc. shhhhhhhh ..... but a relief as I wait the radiology report.
