You posted the same info preciously. I answered that one.
I was prescribed Eltroxin as a precaution by a fertility clinic. My TSH levels are within normal levels but at the low end, which apparently can cause miscarriage in early pregnancy. Within 5 days, I was experiencing severe shortness of breath and chest pains. I figured it was the beginning of a chest infection but after a week of of shallow breath, wheezing and laboured breathing but no progression into phlegmy cough etc, I went to the doctor. He told me this was a known side effect and if it hadn't abated within 2/3 months, maybe come off the medication. I know loads of people on Eltroxin and as they all rave about the high energy and weight loss, I wasn't really expecting any negative side effects. Once I thought about it, I realised that Eltroxin could also be the reason behind my hot flashes, fuzzy head, exhaustion, increasing anxiety and raw tasting mouth and tongue. I took another pill the following morning and still felt lousy. The next morning I woke with an intense headache and decided enough was enough. I haven't taken a tablet in two days now and I still feel miserable. I'm hoping the symptoms will ease given a little time.
I am on Eltroxin - .2 mg per day, I have been on the tablets for quite a few years now, every year the dosage gets increased. Not sure what the blood results are as all the test that were done this year were for the parathyroidism. I know that the blood calcium was very high and that is now normal. Will have to go back to the doctor in January to get a new prescription. Before the operation I did have pain at the top of my chest (just below the collar bone) that extended into the shoulder during exercise. My heart was checked and that was fine, pain still comes even after the op. The shortness of breath has been worse since the op, sometimes I feel like I just can't catch my breath and try not to panic. Could be because of the anesthetic
.
Shortness of breath can be a symptom of hypothyroidism. Do you have current thyroid blood test results? If so, please post them, so we can see what your levels actually are. Be sure to include reference ranges, since ranges vary lab to lab and must come from your own lab report.
Are you currently on a thyroid replacement medication? If so, which one, at what dosage, and how long have you been on it?
Even though shortness of breath can be a hypo symptom (or any other possible heart related symptom) should be checked out by your doctor.
