My story is a long complicated one. But I have a tendancy to be extremely sensitive to neomercazole and it can randomly hammer my thyroid totally, while other people tolerate a continuous lowered dose of neo during hypo periods, mine tends to be temporarily out of use, and can initially be slow to return,so in my case stopping neo for a short period allows my thyroid to recover then treatment resumes. If I continued taking a reduced dose of neo my thyroid would become more hypo.Hope this explains
Hi they have told me to stop neo mercazole for one week on the basis that I am profoundly hypo as indicated by the ft4 level.I will then resume medication on whatever dose they specify
On what basis are they changing your meds. If it is TSH, that does not work. TSH is a pituitary hormone that is affected by so many variables that it does not correlate well with either Free T3 or Free T4, much less with symptoms.
