Thought you'd want to know that P-Thyroid is recommended by other doctors in the USA. My sister's Dr just started her on this form as 100mcg of the Levothyroxine wasn't helping much. We've both been on Thryroid meds since our early 50's - we're now late 50's, and have had to increase the dosages the past few months. Don't know if the P-Thyroid is same formulation as the Armor, don't think so, but I suggest you call the Women's International Pharmacy in Youngtown, AZ and ask them. They've been a terrific resource for us the past several years. 800-279-5708. They made the P-Thyroid my sister uses, They're good with questions. Any Dr. in the USA can place a prescription w/them - they do everything, even specialty things. Best to you!
If you want something close to Armour (and are in the US):
Canada's version of original Armour is made by ERFA and generically called Thyroid on web sites, available on several Canadian online pharmas. Took me two weeks to receive it in northern US.
Or google Nature-Throid, find the # on their web site and call for a U.S. pharma that has it in stock.
Interested in knowing what exactly that P-thyroid is you have.
I received an add the other day about armour thyroid. It can be gotten in canada, I don't use it but there is a web sight listed where you can order. Please PM me for more info.
We have to keep in mind that this forum is world wide. So its helpful to list your location. So- some questions for you.
What country did you get this?
I have never heard of P-Thyroid in the US as a prescription thyroid hormone replacement med.
What kind of a doctor prescribed this for you?
Is this really a prescription from a pharmacy? Or an on the shelf supplement product containing dessicated thyroid purchased from a health food nutritional store?.
If its the same, more would have heard about it.
Just looking at the name, it looks like a generic med but in a synthetic size, just a guess.
