I have been living with a "mildly elevated" thyroid for multiple years. I am 42 years old and have been off of birth control for 4 years and have been gaining weight - regardless of exercise and diet. I am fatigued. My health is deteriorating because I am 80 pounds heavier. Can anyone share their experiences with the range of elevated to mildly elevated to normal thyroid numbers? What does it take to get some help from a Dr?
When you were tested for TSH were you also tested for the biologically active thyroid hormones, Free T4 and Free T3? If so, please post results and reference ranges shown on the lab report. What has the doctor said about your TSH being above range?
