the results are........

right thyroid lobe measures: 5.2 by 1.5 by 2.2 cm
left thyroid lobe measures:4.8 by 1.7 by 2.1 cm
isthmus is 2 mm in thickness
there is a disscrete predominately cystic nodule with thick walls and some internal echoes present within the thyroid midpole measuring 1.6 x 0.7 x 0.9
within the left thyroid lower pole there is a comples nodule identified it measures 0.7 x 0.6 x 0.5 cm it either represents an irregularly shaped cyst surrounding a tiny nodule or represents a nodule that is partially cystic and partially soild in nature.
my dr noted it was slightly larger, but to wait another 6 bmonths and redo the US....still no meds does this sound right?What should I be asking next?

....thanks again...I watch my salt intake very closely....for years I didn't go anywhere without my own suply of salt!!.....I cut that out over 20yrs ago, but makes me wonder y I felt the need to always have salt?

If you have elevated TPO antibodies you most likely having Hashimoto's condition.
Low iodine diet is recommended for Hashimoto's patients with thyroid enlargement.

......y no meds tho.....I was told I had hashimotos, but not given meds for it.....

Oh man I sure feel for you, I'm in a similar boat.....I can't believe how these specialists drag the testing out for months and just wait, I don't have any meds either and I am so sick I cannot work, I need help asap, I can't wait for months, I need to survive...sorry had to vent, I hope we both can get some answers here on this site... I will pray for you :)

Biopsy of the larger nodule may be not a bad idea; the smaller nodule can be just monitored; according to the literature, the benign nodule usually grows by 15 % ,[ the problem there the source does not specify if it is larger size or its volume].
