Pain in the knees

Hello

I was diagnosed with Hashimotos about five months ago and the Doctors will not treat me. I sleep all day with no energy to do absolutely anything and cannot digest food properly my stomach looks like I am 7months pregnant. I am now having severe knee pain in the cold mornings and upon getting up out of bed. I have tried to walk to loose weight and can't due to the knee pains that feel like sharp nerve pain I also have this same pain in my wrist on and off. I have gained alot of weight to the point of not wanting to eat due to stomach discomfort and constipation as well as nausea. I also have a swollen neck with a goiter. What do you do if your doctor do not want to treat because the harmone levels are normal but there are changes show on the scan, goiter and many symptoms? These changes have all come about within a year and a half. I have also developed serious tachardia and high blood pressure and put on toprol as well as vitamin D deficiency. I also have shinny skin forming on the front of my legs anyone ealse with this?

Hi. I want to tell you about how a yeast allergy can cause these problems. My joints crack when i eat yeast, antifungals and things that share building blocks with yeast. Those are yeast, MSG, b-vitamins made from yeast, vinager made with yeast, whine, beer, grains except for rice and corn, milk, moldy foods like dried meats, fish that has been fed grains.

Apparently the hashi's gene resembles both gluten and yeast cells, so when we have a yeast allergy and eat yeast, or a gluten allergy and eat gluten, our thyroid gets hit as well.

My wise doctor told me two weeks ago that it's not all about the numbers, symptoms should be taken into consideration more then numbers.  He also, stated that alittle thyroid hormon wont harm anyone.  The doctor previous to this one I had to beg to get medication........FIND A NEW DOCTOR.

I feel so much empathy for you since I went through some similar symptoms and my daughter is too.  I finally ended up going to Houston to see Dr. Arem, endo for my Hashimoto since he does the TRH which shows the bigger picture of what is going on at the hypothalamus , pituitary level to finally be put on levoxyl & T3.  Luckily my daughter's endo put her on Armour when her TSH is above a 2 w/symptoms. But that is not the whole story she was also diagnosis w/ mycolplasma pneuomia, please check out www.immed.org to learn about stealth organisms also she is now seeing an Infectious disease specialist and with her symptoms because of co-infections she might have borrelia, babesia, bartonella these are part of the lyme infections, also shealth organisms. Mosquestos can transmit beside ticks also may lie dormit until something sets it off.  Specific testing such as PCR  ( some they have to send away and others cans be done at local labs) Treatment with specific antibiotics may be for many months depending on how long the symptomology has gone on.  You will have Herx. when organisms are dying off.  But it truly sounds like you have a bacteria of some sort that set off your immune system which caused the Hashimoto's.  In fact now they think all immune disorders are caused by infections. Mine was too and my rhematologist at USF had me on antibiotics. Good luck and happy reading by googling and researching.  Also finding a doc is hard. Again by the grace of God we have Dr. Cichon who my daughter is seeing who is an expert and if finance is a problem there are organization that do help with this and even to pay for medications.

I have been on Thyroxine 50 for a month now and I feel like I am going through menipause on and off hot spells. My MRI camp back and showed I have three 1.5CM lumps on the thyroid 2 on the left and 1 large on on the right and one is pushing on my esophogus. I was put on the thyroxine to shrink them and I still have the lumps and it seems like at night and in the morning they get bigger and I get short winded and my jaw and ear hurts. I also get migrains behind my eyes and even with the medication I am so tired in the morning I don't get up until 2PM. I am going back to the doctor with blood work to check THS on the 15th. I have normal blood work before the meds and I can't believe the tumors did not make the TSH change. Anyone easle with these symtoms and also developing vitalogo on their face.

I had really bad knee problems just before getting dignosed. Thyroid meds helped some, but it wasn't enough. I started taking Osteo Biflex and my knees no longer lock up on me, crack, or ae in pain. If I forget the Osteo Biflex for a few days the pain starts back up again.

I also had plantar fascites. This was resolved with a calcium, D, magnesium supplement.

I think once we have hypothyroidism, it effects everything in ourbodies. The thyroid hormone may correct most of the problems, but sometimes we need to use a supplement or change our diets.
