Pain in the neck

I am on Anti Thyroid medication for Grave;s disease...I yawned and I got excruciating pain coming my thryoid...felt like someone choked me...is this normal???

Thank you Sue for your feedback.  I actually did feel much better after taking methamazole too.  Have been taking it for about a month and 1/2.  Big improvement, this is why this pain confused me and did not know where it came from out of no where.  I do have a goiter that was big enough to notice, since taking methamazole though  it has decreased in size considerably.  Maybe the pain is coming from that. Or maybe it is getting bigger again..don;t know.   I will check in with my Dr like you suggested and find out.    I was prescribed beta blockers too, however did not take them because of the side affects listed.   Thanks again...:)

HI..I am a Sue, too. I also have graves and took methamazole and beta blockers. I did not experience what you have just described. I felt great in about three days after starting it. Sorry that this your reaction to it. Maybe call the doctor and ask if the medicine would have anything to do with the pain.
