Pain underneath chin bone

I have hypothyroidism andI have jaw problems as it is....I can't open my mouth that wide or my jaw will pop on the left side, but usually I don't have too much pain (just stiffness) unless I eat something tough.  At the beginning of this week, I woke up with jaw pain, and now, underneath my chin (almost by the pulse point) I have pain.  Does anyone know what this could be?

I hope I explained my symptoms well enough!

Thanks!

I have a friend that has no thyroid problems but she gets blocked salivary glands...it's very painful according to her....She ***** on a lot of lemon drops.  Ummm I think because they are so sour it makes the gland produce more and the blockage goes away.  I don't know how severe that can get...Might be worth a try...more likely bet would be to check with your dr.
