Please help I feel like Im having a break down, Confused with the Dr's..

AS you can read from other post my tsh t3 and t4 has been on a rollar coaster ride. Got results today and they are

tsh 2.17 was 3.35
t3 2.07 was 2.99
t4 1.0 was 0.83

He desided to put  me on Cytomel 25 mcg. When a month ago another Dr was wanting me to take Synthoid 25 mg.
I didn't take the Synthoid cause I was wanting a second opinion. Well now that I have that I dont know what to do!
I am so new at this and dont know how all this works. I do know I have no energy and ache all over. No problem with weight as of yet anyway. Im 5'6 145.
Has anyone every expericed confusion or like a short term memory loss with this?
Any thoughts or answers would greatly be appreciated..

Thank you & GOD Bless!!

I think you should look into both scripts. Cytomel looks like it will help you - but the T4 is low too, in my opinion.

I think adding both would be quite helpful

Sweetpea, I don't know your lab ranges for t3, but it looks like they've gone down.

Here's my take on T4/T3. IMHO T3 is more important. Our body takes T4 and converts it to T3. That's why the first doc gave you T4 (Synthroid). That's the conventional way of treating hypothryoidism. The new doc just went straight to treating the t3 with Cytomel. Many people split their Cytomel. Half in the morning, then wait an hour before eating. Then half an hour before dinner.

Your T4 levels are still low. Maybe if you take the Cytomel for a while, and you still have the symptoms you listed (YES, THEY ARE COMMON IN HYPOS!), this new doc will add a T4 drug.

If I were you, I'd start the Cytomel. I sure hope my doc gives me some soon. Right now, I'm just on Synthroid.

Anyone else have anything to add? I'm not a real doctor. I just have a phony degree in Internet Endocrinology. :)
