Please help- TSH .06, T4 3.2

Hello,

As the subject indicates, can someone please tell me if tsh of .06 and t4 of 3.2 can ONLY indicate hyperthyroid? I was never on medicine for thyroid( hyper or hypo) so am quite anxious regarding this. I am getting an ultrasound done this week and the radio active iodine test next as per doc's advice. In 2007, about 6 months after I had my first baby, I went through something similar- the blood test showed me as hyper but the radio active test showed me as hypo. The specialist said that the hormones were taking their time to settle after my pregnancy. Blood work in 2008 and 2009 showed my TSH in normal levels. Could this mean that hyperthyroid has relapsed? Thank you!

I had similar syptoms when I was hyper.  I am not an anxious person but I was a reck!!  Heart pounding and palpitations, very nervous, hands trembling, I felt sooooo unbalanced.  I was sent to an Endocrinologist and he prescribed tapazole.  I have been on it for 1 month and I feel much better.  I have many nodules which conicidentally started after my second pregnancy (8 years ago).  Now they are changing and causing difficulty swallowing so they plan to remove my Thyroid.
I tend to think the anxiety is because of the hyperthyroid.  I know seratraline is a good med...my husband takes it :)

Was that T4 a Free or Total?  And as gimel said, the lab's reference range is necessary, since these are lab specific.

Thank you for answering! The reference range was .8 to 5 for TSH. My results for the T3 panel will be out today so I will further update. As far as symptoms, I have palpitations and feel a little different than normal. Racing thoughts and anxiety. Also, for four months fromNov 09 to Jan '10 I was on Sertraline and then stopped. A month after that, I had what seems like stress/ anxiety. I am back on Sertraline now. As just confused about whether the anxiety is because I stopped Sertraline or because of hyperthyroid.

A low TSH does not always indicate hyperthyroidism.  There are many other possible causes for a low TSH.  Beyond saying that, I'd really like to know the lab's reference range for that T4 test result and also like to know if you are having symptoms of being either hyper or hypo.
