Questions to grill the new ENT with??

So - next week I have another ENT appointment, a new ENT this time and it is really to go over the CT results from 6/4 on the opacification of mastoid air cells, but since I am going to be there and I am pretty sure this guy does he own surgeries for thyroid problems, I want to be extra prepared with questions on my freakish thyroid.  So.......

Any suggestions??  I am going to ask for the following tests re: thyroid:

TSH
Free T4
Free T3
TPOab
Tgab
ESR??  (is that the inflamation test?)

I am thinking I want him to run a calcium thing again.  My last one was 9.6 in April of this year.  Is there a specific calcium test to run or the generic will do?

My goal is to figure out if I have hashi (endo mutterance leads me to believe I do) and to try to figure out what is going on in my neck (pictures show I have an extra right lump when swallowing).  Mind you, I DO NOT want surgery if I don't need it, I just want to know what is going on with me and try to figure out a way to ease it.

BTW - hashi and non-hashi alike, do you have swelling of the feet with your swelling of the thyroid?   What about swelling of the tongue?  I am trying to not read too much in my swelling of extremities, it is hot in Louisiana, but I just think at least some of this must be related.

I still hate my thyroid.

Adenoids are in the same vicinity as the tonsils.  You probably did have them out when you had your tonsils out.   Just wondering because I had a problem with both in my late teens and it used to cause swelling in the glands in my neck, especially on one side.

Good luck at your ENT appt and hope you get more feedback as to questions to ask.

I don't have the tonsils, but have no clue about the adnoids.  Had my tonsils out when I was 10.  I know this is a stupid question, where are adnoids?

Your calcium seems pretty good, really.  He'll probably not want to test that again.  But if he does, he'll know what to run – ionized; etc.

Looking back, long before diagnosis, I can remember having times where people would comment that my feet seemed swollen.  I don’t remember much on the tongue part.

Curious?  Do you still have your tonsils, adenoids, and all that stuff?

I am not a Hashi expert so cannot really help, but I was thinking if you take your icon in with you and wear it proudly maybe he will LISTEN?
