Should I or shouldn't I

Ok, its 4 AM and I am up.  I am worried like crazy.  Here is what happened! I woke up around 315AM, my left arm was partially numb.  What I mean by that is that only 3 fingures were numb along with my arm.  Normally, if it goes numb when I relieve pressure from it (I think I was sleeping on my hand) within a matter of seconds the whole tingling happens. Nope not this time.  I notice that my arm and 3 fingures were still numb..... i started moving my arm and fingures and lift my hand etc...... eventually I VERY slowly got feeling in my hand.... oooo before i forget, my fingures were oddly cold as well.  I have hashimoto disease and just recently started taking meds.... should I worry?  Is this normal?

I get the same feelings in my hand and just as the others said, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I usually massage my hand and fingers until the feelings come back and then its ok.  I have notice the tingling more and more, but the massage normally brings back all the feelings.

Try to rest my friend... easy said than done, but try not to worry unless it something really serious.

Take care

Hi, I get that often too and a couple of times I thought the feeling was never going to come back! Like the other say, I wouldn't worry too much. But it could also be Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, which is common when you are hypothyroid. All it means is that the nerves to your hand get squashed often by a build up of fluid which gets trapped in the "Carpal Tunnel", which is a small sort of passageway between your arm and hand. It's not dangerous though. But it might be worth asking your doc if it could possibly be that. Hope this helps.

I've noticed this a little more since all this thyroid stuff came into my life.

Like above, I wouldn't worry too much.  Now if it doesn't rebound - that's another story.

Ironically, it's these little things that give me added incentive to keep up with taking care of myself: getting plenty of exercise; continuing the practice of yoga; etc.

I agree with stella ........... i get this really bad sometimes and is very scary.  You can always take some Tums if you are concerned (calcium) and put a call into your Dr. but as a patient sounds like your arm fell asleep from pressure on it.

I know your stress - i will occassionally get that too still.

i agree - you may have been sleeping on your hand or kinked your arm funny. cutting off some circulation so that may be why the coldness was there.

Hashi definately effects the joints and gives us aches and pains that are intense at times.

I wouldn't worry to much - heart palps pay attention to if you get them.
