Hi, I have a nodule in the front of my neck under my adams apple, the ultrasound suspected this to be a thyroglossal duct cyst but my ENT says otherwise and says it is a thryoid nodule, all fnbiopsy results ok although the fnb itself was very painful as they could not get what they needed and had to do another and another..............My doctor says because the nodule is in the front and not on the right or left side I should have a full thyroidectomy. We discussed him taking the nodule and seeing if the left or right side has better thyroid tissue so he could leave 1 side but I am 40 and he says nodules are usual multiple, does this mean that if I do not have the full thyroidectomy that I will be back under the knife in the future? As many on here, I am searching for answers that probably only time will tell. I have had no thyroid problems and my blood levels are fine. I am very concerned with all of the blogs I have read about losing control of myself post surgery. I have 2 young children and don't want to fall in to a deep depression. The Doc says no but these blogs say otherwise, any uplifting advise you can give, will be wonderful!
