You may get some additional relief for itchy rash by using a cool compress on it - just cold water on a face towel. BUT don't let the towel touch your incision or the drain site! Very important.
Keep following directions for Benadryl and cortisone cream.
Get someone to have a look down your throat. Does it look swollen more than usual on the inside? If so go straight to the ER.
Hmm. How big is the ball? Don't like the sounds of that. It is probably just fluid accumulating under the incision but your body should deal with it and disperse it. Even if the rash is better by morning, see the doctor about this swelling under the incision just to be sure - especially if it increases in size. I've gotta go now and I'm not sure if I'll be back until sometime tomorrow but if that ball gets a lot bigger tonight either call your doctor at home or go to ER. Best wishes

I agree with JeniPeni ..... not sure on the "ball" either .. my "ball" was a cyst that was infected and then turned into infected scar tissue (called granuloma) and started to grow inward near my trachea and was tight .. but was above the incision not on it. A ball like that sounds like fluid and yours may very well be clear fluid and not infected but cannot mess around with it.
So given what JeniPeni has mentinoned and my history, too, don't mess around with it.
I'm not sure on the rash except sounds like contact rash of some sort .. is it along the line where the drain's tubing was lying when you were in the bed? I ask that thinking if it were latex you may have a contact dermatitis of some sort but I wouldn't think these drains would be made of latex this day of age but one never knows.

I am worried about you. Please take it easy. I can so understand about having to work. I am a single person and the bills still have to be paid.. :( Take care..
