Due to the confusion between the two results, if you could get a thyroid scan, where they use radioactive iodine, that can determine if it is indeed a hot nodule. The test I mentioned previously, fine needle aspiration or FNA, Mayo Clinic says is the most sensitive for being able to tell if nodules are cancerous or not. See PM.
thank you for answering my question
The problem is that i dont know why thyroid scan shows its hot but blood test seems normal and ultrasound description sound like cold nodules
I m so confused.
thank you so much for answering my question .
the problem is that scan shows it is a hot nodules but ultrasound description is different .even if it is hot nodules i will be cancerous?
nodules have nothing to do with blood tests...my blood tests were normal, I still had cancer. Why did you have the hemi? Tiny Calcifications are more likely to be cancerous. If the nodule is over 1 cm, you can have it biopsied, but you may not get a decisive result. I know it is easy for me to say this, but relax, even if it is cancer, it is usually so slow growing that you can wait a few months to be retested. I would ask for a biopsy.
Can they order and can you get a fine needle aspiration of the nodule prior to your appointment?
