Reason for these symptoms ....???

My father has parathyroidism due to vitamin D deficiency ...which is now getting cured . However since some time back, he says he feels shivering cold(winters are going on though) inspite of putting on woolens ,also he has burning sensation simultaneously. Moreover , he also has lower back ache ,and weakness in legs ,so much so that he basically has to lie down and rest.I wanted to know if these are the symptoms of hyper/hypo thyroidism .Also the possible reason why these symptoms are there.Would be grateful if doctors and others could please help me out...

Thanks so much in advance.

Could be (the cold...), but first he must test for his TSH, free T3 and free T4. About the legs if everything is under control (vit D and calcium levels), may be he is lacking Magnesium (storage) which is frequent when people have  or had hypocalcemia (low calcium). He can have Mg solution (by in Pharmacy) after dinner and see if he improve (but talk to his doctor first).
