Thanks. The info is helpful.
As I have been told 20% of those who have partials need synthroid. In my case, it turned out they found incidental findings of two small papillary micro's so I would have been on the Synthroid anyway ..
So the main difference b/tween TT and PT is the % of those who need hormone replacement ... 20% for partial *unless cancer is found and supression is recommended* and 100% need it for TT as the gland does not make any hormones .. however a few on this community haven't taken any meds after their TT which leads some to think maybe they left some tissue behind ?? These are the %'s I can recall and not quoted ...
From my own personal experience ............ I live with a small one on the other side. Every day that I choose to think about the thought and fear is there. I begged them to take a look @ it when in there but they cannot touch it bcz the other side surely will not work I was told. Then they found incidental findings of cancer elsewhere 48hrs later and I live with the constant should I or shouldn't I have the other side out and I am 80% ok with it . the other 20% always up for contention. and I had about 5 opinions. 4 said stay as is and one said take out the other side .. actually 2 said to take out the other side if I include the opinion of our great endo on the Dr. Expert Forum.

I guess the next thing would be the need for synthroid which you should not need with the partial.
Depends alot on the ultrasound features and size of the nodule ...
I have lots of opinions to give but need a wee bit more info first to share my personal opinion as it may relate to you ...
I had a partial 1/07
And my other side never worked again .. so you may guess where this is leading to.
