Reformulated Armour with hypo symtoms

Was anyone that was on the reformulated Armour and had re-occurring hypo symptoms able to resolve the symptoms by just increasing their dose before it was unavailable by August? I ask this since I am able to find some again.

So was it the corn  startch that made the new formulation crumble when splitting and also made it impossible to take sublingialy? Besides this, some people that swallow the tablets noted increased hypo symptoms. I had some increased hypo symtyms my self in July and was still increasing the Armour since I started on it in May. So I was unable to increase the dose due to the unavailability by late August. When I could not get Armour anymore I had to switch to a generic that is running out now, so its time to switch back to the newly formulated Armour while my local stores have the one grain.

Who knows, Maybe the new formulation just requires a heftier dose for some people to get the hypo symptoms to go away?  On some other website I read  peoples comments on how sick and hypo the new Armour was making them. People had furious, almost raging comments on other web sites at the time. Now that the smoke has cleared, it seems that increasing the meds would make them better. Is there more to it than this?

If some people were 'sick' on the new formulation (besides hypo symtyms), what was it. 'Sick' is to general a term to get to the bottom of this. Note: I understand those that used to take it sublingualy, and I could not split it anymore (my gripe). Maybe they dont want people to split it anymore so customers need two scripts per month instead of one, its all about the $.

I'm just educating myself on the facts before I start taking the reformulated Armour again, I admit I'm not thrilled, I like my generic but all generic dessicated (Major and Time Caps)  have stopped production for good. Besides people complaining, it will be beneficial for some to resolve this reformulation and move on. If we all move to Nature Throid and something happens to that company, then what? When all is available again, options if possible, are best for all. Two options is not much (scary future, hello Canada?).

thanks, LM

My pharmas around me have 1 grain Armour again - look on the Armour web site, they shipped some recently. McKesson (spl), the distributer for the big stores (Target) does not have it, smaller ones do.

My point is most peoples issues were also hypo issues (with hypo lab #'s to boot) that will possibly go away with higher dose. (?)  If that is the case then for some its no big deal, I will find out I guess.

As far as GI issues, I know its a gross subject, but what did it do to some people? I get acid reflux when hypo, I dont want that again.

I heard it was a change in the polimers used. More cellulose and less dextrose due to GI issues of some. All I know is that my daughter began having sudden joint pain, and I mean EVERY joint, and kept saying she was not feeling good (tired , fatigued and ache). Joint pain was something she has never had before, only muscle pain from time to time on Synthroid. She had been doing so well  (symptoms and blood) on the Armour for 4 months and than we refilled the same dose and same pharmacy and within a week or two all hell began! Very scary!!! Took her for labs and her freet4 was drasticly lower and the freet3 was substantualy lower. So we switched to Nature-Throid and after 3 months are doing great again!  Now the issue is getting it? I have enough to get us through Dec. 18th and then we will be forced to go to compounded desiccated if the Nature-throid is not at the pharmacies. I don't think we can afford to take the chance with getting sick on the Armour again, even with a higher dose. My daughter is nine and born without a thyroid gland.
