Help!

I had my thyroid removed over a year ago because of thyroid nodules and thyroiditis and levels being inconsistant with anything,....Felt bad before and never have felt any better! I took Synthroid for awhile, but still felt like ****, so was changed to armour, at first I felt a little better, but then back to feeling crappy! (sluggish, tirerd, quick tempered, dry skin, dry eye, dry everything and just real Blah!) My doc is very thurough and keep a close eye on my levels! I take my meds every morning at the same time.
In September my levels would classify me in hyperthyroidism, but still felt hypo, so my doctor did NOT change my dose. (I am taking armor thyroid, two bp pills and a b complex and was taking adipex and still dragging!) I started having palpitations, so I stopped the adipex, the palpitations have only gotten worse. I am wearing a holter moniter today and I had my thyroid levels tested again today and they were
T4 0.51
TSH 0.33
T3 2.73
The only one that is off is my T4. When I try to get info on this it keeps throwing me towards Pituitary problems. What is wrong with me? I cant loose weight, my heart is doing flip flops, I stay worn out but very quickly agitated and Im not real sure what to do. HELP!!!

Thanks
Gin

Hello Ging70,

You don't say how much Armour you take but you might try dividing the dosage up into 2-3 times a day.  Armour peaks quickly and has short duration.  If dose is all taken at one time, it may cause palpitations.

I too found that feeling better after TT takes a long time.  Takes months after stabilizing dose/labs.  Stress definitely doesn't help.

I agree, but all thyroid hormones cause palpitations and right now I cant even imagine increasing my dose because it feels as if my heart is jumping around in my chest.
It seems as if its never ending!

Yes I can relate....you are tired of feeling like yuck! You are underdosed from what your free's are saying. T4 should be at mid to mid high range of normal, as well as T3 should be at a mid high normal range when on armour.
You may want to go back to synthroid with adding cytomel if you cannot get your body to handle the armour. If you are to stay on armour, it looks like you need a higher dosage.

No pituitary tests lately or that I know of. I just know that I am feeling really bad and would love to have some answers
Nursing student, single mom and also work- that combo with hypothyroidism is not good!

Hi there.....has your dr ran any tests for your pituitary? Your tsh is low, but your free's show low thyroid hormone levels. TSH of course shows pituitary function (communication). I would say that it warrants further testing for sure.  ALTHOUGH....
Any med with T3 will supress your TSH. When on Armour, you need to be dosed by your Free levels not your TSH. Both your free's are too low.
