Seasonique causing Hyperthyroidism?

I started having hot flashes, bad headaches, and dizziness about 6 months ago. I didn't think much of it considering i'm 35 i just figured i was getting older. Well, 2 months ago i was switched from Yasmin 28 to Seasonique birth control and within 3 wks, all the symptoms i had been having became 10x worse. In addition other symptoms started appearing: irritability, intolerance to stress, insomnia, tremors and nervousness (this was the worse symptom), shortness of breath, double vision and eyes that were puffy. I went to my doctor but he keeps saying it's anxiety attacks which i disagree with. I haven't been stressed out really and this is a constant thing that occurs. We tested my thyroid and it was abnormal but he said it wasn't abnormal enough to be causing all of these symptoms. I know it is bad not to trust your doctor, but i really think that something is wrong and am wondering is it possible that the Seasonique maybe affecting my thyroid somehow or maybe causing me to have some sort of hormonal inbalance seeing as how i am 35 and maybe it tricked my body into thinking i was menopausal? Or am i possibly catching my thyroid problem at the start so maybe it just isn't that high right now?

The pill can mess up your system. And even worse if there is an issue with the thyroid.

Before I started to take the pill I was hypo and I did not know it. When I started the pill I went crazy for several months. My THS went high and my T4 was high too, although some doctors say it only "appears" high in the results when it is not.

My free t3 remained low all the time.

I had hot flashes and night sweats in my twenties and weight gain and water retention. I felt hyper and had palpitations.

The weird thing was that after these several months my body "adapted" somehow to the pill and I regained energy and my hair  was never more beutiful. My skin even more perfect.
I felt good afterwards. But your problem seems to persist.

It is all progesterone and estrogen related, with the thyroid, I mean.

I quit the pill for the better. Now on treatment for my hypo and hoping to feel better without those hormones (I miss the beautiful hair though.)

My GYN told me that when on the pill my hormones test results will always be alterate somehow. She tested me again and again after I quit.

There are many birth control pill brands in the market. When I used it I tried many and I kept the one that did not cause me to go nuts for more than three months (that was my deadline with a new brand.)

Maybe seasonique is not for you. Maybe trying a new brand would help. Some brands are more "hair and skin" friendy and so on. They have different amounts of hormones on them.

What were your labs?
FREE T3
FREE T4
TSH

Find out the levels,,,,,ask for a print out and take it from there and post here.
Personally I cant see how that med would cause hyperthyroidism.
Als ask your Doc to do antibdoy testing for Grabes and Hash's and ask for hormone testing done for menopause.
I was post menopause at the age of 40 and went through 'the change' from the young age of 36.

Just explain to your Doc that your 'covering all options'.
Tell him /her you dont feel well and want to know why.

I  began taking seasonique over three years ago when I was 37 and have been suffering (for the last 2 years) from hot flashes, headaches, body aches, irritablility and no sex drive .  I asked my Ob/gyn if these were symptoms of menopause and she said  I was a bit young for that and that I was on the pill so there should be no symptoms of menopause.   The last 3 months have been ubearable.  I have extreme sweating during the day and at night.   I asked my general physisian to figure out what was going on.  I recently got back results and found that my estradiol (estrogen) and testosteron levels are extremely low.  She believes it to be a result of the seasonique.
