Seeking help

I had an ultrasound three months ago and was told I had five thyroid nodules and to get another scan in three months. I went for another scan yesterday and I now have 10 nodules. Is this normal? My blood tests from three months ago was normal.

Thanks for the advice, I now realize that I must be proactive! Thank goodness they do have an ENT here at the military hospital, so I know that will be my next step. This is so weird that this condition was even found...during an MRI scan for a cervical spine disc rupture. My Dr. decided to take on one condition at a time...the disc fusion first and now follow up for the thyroid. I already have a very large scar on my neck!! I am a little worried, because when doing research for the cervical spine rupture (just woke up one morning in terrible pain), I found that cancer cells in another part of the body can cause a rupture...I'll be happy to get a FNA done to rule this out! And talk about stress; I'm a grad student, and work full time...and gearing up to move back to the states in 60 days! Good luck to you too and thanks for the comments.

Things went fast for me I vote to take it out... HOWEVER I am not nearly as educated as allot of people here. Get a good ENT or a endo and go from there. Do not let them just sit be proatice with whatever your choice may be. I just did not want to wait!!! Me I have 2 Colloid nodules... One is 2.5cm and the other 1cm.. Dr. said to much stress on my behalf he said yeah we can just take it out... GOOD luck with what ever you do!!!!

Actually I didn't even know to ask this question until I came home and found this website. Since I'm a military spouse stationed in Japan....I have the scan done at a different hospital than my Dr. is at...so I follow up with him next week. I will ask him for sure! I do know the scan tech said I have a 7 and an 8, but I don't know what that means. I appreciate any help!! I was just shocked to hear that I have doubled the number of nodules in three months. If anyone can alert me to others things I need to ask, please let me know. Thanks!!
