I found a pharmacy here that sells me natural thyroid dessicated medication that is not Armour but is like Armour, I believe it's either Nathroid or Westroid. Not sure but the capsules smell just like Armour! I just switched a few days ago and will have a blood test in 2 weeks, we'll see.
Many find that they need a bump in NT - vs - Armour. You and your doctor can find the right balance for you - if you switch.
Keep in mind - it is very hard to get NT too right now. All desiccated thyroid meds are on a 90 day backorder and most pharmacies will not see it in again until mid December
Hi,
Thanks for the answers, I'll be seeing my doctors in 2 weeks, I'll ask for NT. I should have enough Armour to keep me going until then.
What do you recommend for the dosage, NT vs Armour? I am currently taking 90 mg of Armour.
That swine flu situation is a bunch of B S. That is not the reason for the shortage at all.
Ask the pharmacist for the "report" from the FDA to prove that? He can't.
There is a shortage b/c patients on Armour are very upset over the reformulization of the drug. Since Feb 2009 when the new Armour came on the market - patients have been complaining to their doctors and directly to the Forest Pharmacutical company about how the new Armour is failing them after year of being thyroid optimal.
Personally - they have really hurt the superior preformance Armour had for decades with the Old formula and many patients have left Armour for another desiccated thyroid medication - Nature-throid.
I went to NT after a spiral downwards effect with the new formula myself. Actually, I feel the best ever since the switch. For me - them switching their methods - pushed me into finding an even better outcome for my condition.
Thanks to the internet and the way information can spread globally now. Many are part of a movement to leave Armour treatment - due to the new formula bringing back hypothyroid symptoms. The information on Nature-throid has spread like wild fire and many changed to that and find even more superior results ridding them of the terrible hypothyroid symptoms they had.
So sorry put the pharmacist you talked to is nuts! Don't buy into that. If you can't get your Armour, then check out the information on Nature-throid on the RLC website - www/rlclabs/com
