Should I take vitamins with levothryoxin

Should I take vitamins or calcium with levothryoxin. If I do take vitain supplements, should it be in the morning? Can I drink milk after I have taken levothryoxin?

The important thing is to do what you are going to do consistantly.  I have to take calcium three times a day, so it is hard for me to take my thyroid at a time that is 2 hours before or after calcium.  I take my thyroid with my calcium in the morning.  My dosage was regulated while I was doing that. If you change the way you take your medicine, expect to have to have it adjusted.  My endo. keeps me regulated to the nth degree.

I take calcium, vitamin D and a multi-vitamin.
Always take the calcium at least 4 hours before or after the synthroid.
I take my calcium & vitamin D with lunch, and then another calcium and my multi with dinner, that way, I don't have to worry about absorption.
Also I wait about an hour after taking my synthroid before I have my morning coffee (w/ a small amount of milk) or breakfast.

It is my understanding that calcium can interfere with thyroid meds so I take calcium before I go to bed, added bonus it helps you sleep. Read a study about caffiene and whole grains interfering with absorption as well, so I wait an hour before I have coffee and I steer away from whole grains first thing in the morning. As I understand you need to space out all meds from the thyroid ones .. not exactly sure on the time though .. I'm sure others will know and jump on in .. I wait  about 2hrs because anything tends to not agree if taken together with my Synthroid and I want full absorption.

If you take added calcium make sure your doc knows for calcium levels in that all is ok with your parathyroids before taking add'l calcium since there are thyroid concerns .. that's my opinion which I do.
