I had the same problem with you with the bladder but also suffered greatly with URI's.
So for the past year I have taken 1 cranberry capsule (10,000) and the problem stopped...so too did the UTI's.
Now this is someone who had Urinary Tract Infections every month.
I get no side effects from the cranberry capsule and its great not having to go through the rough business of taking antibiotics.

Hope that helps you some.

I had RAI and had no side effects of hoarse voice.
Although every now and then I will get a high pitch to my voice but this lats only a few minutes.

I haven't heard of this complication after RAI but it is possible - especially if there was a lot of thyroid tissue around the vocal chords.  The radiation would have stayed in that area and burned out the thyroid tissue - possibly scarring the vocal chords - there may have also been a bit of metastases on the chord(s) themselves.  I would suggest talking to and ENT about the problem with the vocal chords - they may need to run a scope down your throat to visualize the chords and see what is happening.

Continue to drink tons of water to flush out the radiation and use some throat spray to see if that helps but see and ENT.
