I agree with Bornsickie, I use melatonin, I also have R.L.S. which can drive my husband to sleep on the couch.
good luck.
Thanks for all the advice. I will try some tylenol pm first, and if that won't help then Ill try one of your other suggestions. Thanks you guys!
By the way.... I don't wake up groggy... and its only $3.00 - $4.00 a bottle for a 30-60 day supply depending on how you take it. Its not habit forming.
you may want to think about Melatonin. It is a natual enzyme secreted by your brain during your REM sleep that helps you maintain a deep sleep. I started taking it after not being able to afford the $50.00 a month script to sleep.
I take it about 10 PM and by 11pm I am ready for bed. Though I have other problems that play into not getting a goods nights sleep... I found this helps.
You can get this OTC in the supplement section.
As always.... please check with your Dr. before taking anything!
I agree with both posts-
When I was insominiac a few months back my doc gave me Lunestra - I found at the time I wasn't happy with it's results - but I kept the script.
I felt the need this past weekend to really want some deep sleep - so I took one and I really felt rested the next morning.
I have also took Tylenol PM in the past - it helped too.
After a couple of restless nights, I will take Tylenol PM which I understand contains Benadryl. If I take it early enough, say 8, I sleep well and don't feel groggy in the am.
Works for me. Easy cause it's over the counter and non habit forming.
I was recently started on Lunesta 3mg and it works well. I have had some nights where i am wide awake and bushy tailed about 4 in the morning, but I took the Lunesta about 8pm. I'm thinking it was a little too early. I have found if I take it a little later about 930. I sleep through the night. And feel very refreshed in the morning.
