Medication

Does anyone know what the half-life of synthroid and cytomel is?  I was just wondering as I forgot to take them today.

I've read a few of your posts and you seem quite knowledgeable.  I'd like to ask you a question.  I've been on Synthroid for 12yrs.  I've just begun to learn a little about Armour versus supplementing Synthroid with Cytomel.    What are your thoughts on this?  The Armour kinda appealed to me.  Doesn't it have both T4 and T3?  Synthroid being just T4..?  Thank you.

Thanks graveslady and utahmomma for answering my questions.  With feeling so poorly lately I am now officially in "rebel mode" against this disease as am only taking these stupid little pills under protest! ha ha ha  Sometimes when I look at them, they give me a sour stomache.  :-)  Hence, I don't think missing a day could make me feel any worse.

Because of strong heart palpitations and headaches, my doctor has just lowered my synthroid dose from 150 mcg to 125 mcg and has kept the cytomel at 12.5.  Although I understand patience is a virtue and I know I will get better, I am not feeling very "virtuous" right now!  Anyone else feel the same?

*NO* the medication expert but I know that cytomel is fast acting and is usually out of your system within just a few days where the Synthroid is about a week or so.  Can you take them now??  I know when I've missed a morning dose I *have* to take it later in the day or I'm feeling horrible for a few days.
