I'm beginning to think the same thing...but at least you're getting medication for your thyroid disease! I can't even get doctors to figure out what I have, even though they'll almost unanimously agree my results aren't normal. =(

Don't give up on yourself, though...because then it really won't get any better. It takes a lot of time and it's not a pleasant trip, but you WILL get better.

This thyroid stuff is so emotionally depleting. You have to find faith that it will get better.

I can't tell you how many times for years I would wake each day and feel just aweful and ask why me?

I had to find something that helped me feel at peace and help guide me to feeling better and getting answers. For me - I put so much faith "back" into God.

I was a control freak before thyroid and I couldn't control this. I went as far to stretch my hands out and just beg to give me the peace of letting go and let God take so much.

I don't know if that helps you - but there is an answer and somewhere - way down - you have to believe that this will pass and you will be such a better person after it.

The appreciation you feel after going through this and getting things back on track is amazing. You become a better person and can appreciate the tinyest things again.

Hang in there Hun - This is a wonderful group of people - We understand and are your support rock when things get to be too much for you.

Hey there we all have to stick together.  I had a bad day also but that's what this forum is for, to help us through the bad day's.  I've been on my med now for over a month with one change of dose already and I still don't feel well.  I'm really thinking about trying to find a doctor to let me try Armour.  I could deal with being cold, tired and and most of the other symptoms but I can't take the depression and anxiety.  It really does suck but everyone says it gets better.  We can get through this.

I was in a BAD depression for quiet some time, feeling like no one cared and that I was going to be sick for the rest of my life and I was ready to give up on my doctors.
Then I found out most of it is because of my thyroid. I'm not on any meds for it, and am still being tested for all kinds of stuff. What got me through it is that I'm going to start getting answers and that this will have a conclussion. I still hate the wait, but I'm finally on the right road. I've been dealing with my symptoms for at least 12 years and it make take another year or more to get some answers, but like I mentioned - I'm on the right path finally.
You just started the meds - you will eventually feel better. Just keep open communication with your doctor so he/she can keep working with you.

Best of luck!

I'm still trying to get the right dose also and though I don't often have a lot of pain all the time any more, I do have a lot of annoying neuropathy, etc and I have lots of bouts with fatigue when I feel like I just have to go to sleep.

Hang in there, it will get better, but it does take about 3 weeks (or longer) for the meds to kick in.

Jennifer & Rachel -

It takes time for the meds to straighten our systems out.  But they do work and you will eventually feel better.  Hang in there and know that you are not alone!

I think we all feel like that at some stage but it does get better. Just give yourself time and if you arent feeling any better then go back and see your Doc.
He can order Bloods for you and see if you need a higher dose of Eltroxin.
Dont go higher thaough without his say-so as it takes a few weeks for the thyroxin to get into your system.

I'm feeling fed up today too. I am way too young for my body to be falling apart.
