Sudden allergic reaction, dizziness, vertigo and high TSH levels related?

Hi, I have never been allergic to anything but like for a month and a half Ive been having what it would seem to be an allergic reaction to pollen or dust, but I have been ignoring it since i have never been allergic to anything. Then like 5 days ago I have been feeling dizziness and vertigo most of the day, it got so bad that I had to be excused from work and went to see a doctor. The doctor couldn't find anything wrong with me so she made me have some blood work done and sent me to a ophthalmologist. Everything was great except my TSH leves, these had gone from 0,5 last year to 8,6 this year. I haven't gone to the doctor with the results yet, I know a consult with the endocrinologist is coming my way, but till I get my appointment I was wondering if anybody knows if everything is related, the sudden allergic reaction to something since I have never been allergic, the dizziness, the vertigo, the high TSH levels? should I be worry about the big difference  in the THS levels from last year?

patrisalda... it's possible that your symptoms are all related, though allergic reactions and dizziness are not, typically, symptoms we hear of hypothyroidism.

Along with the TSH, your doctor should, also have ordered Free T3 and Free T4, which are the actual thyroid hormones, while TSH is a pituitary hormone.  Be sure, when you see the endo, that you get those tested, as they are much more important than TSH.

TSH is volatile and fluctuates, so it's not unusual that it may have gone from 0.5 last year to 8.6 this year; however, 8.6 is too high and you do need further testing.

Also make sure you get tested for thyroid antibodies, Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPOab) and Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TgAb), to determine whether or not you have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.  You need them both, as they are both markers for Hashimoto's.  Some of us have one or the other and some have them both.
