follow up-surgical appointment

I had my folow-up appointment with the ENT who did the surgery. He confirm me and showed me the pathology report. It is benign nodular hyperplasia and it had grown. I had a type of nodule that will grow and had more than one. The other two were still small but the bigger one was the one growing. They were solid nodules. So he was happy that I made the right decision to remove my right thyroid. If I had waited six months it would have grown even more and would have changed to cancer being that I had follicular cells and hurthle cells. I have to go for thyroid profile test this week I think but I will find out tomorrow because I forgot what he said about the blood work. I wasn't paying attention about the blood work because I was so happy that it was benign and that he was glad that I made the right decision because he wanted to wait. I also have to follow-up with my pcp next week because my lungs are still not clear. I still have that build up of gunk in my lungs,I am still on outpatient IV antibotics until tomorrow but might need a couple of more days of it,I will find out tomorrow. I don't go back to work until Sept 17,so I got additional week. On another note I finally got some good sleep and morning nap yesterday and very good sleep last night. Off topic- I went to my car insurance agent office and they took pictures of my car and they will let me know about the complete estimate by Fri but this is just a rough estimate of $5-$6 thousand dollars worth of damages and might be more if I need front alinement. I have to take my car in next week to start looking for a body shops to get estimate of cost.My agent was surprise that my mother and I walked away from this accident. I hope that my car will be repaired completely when I go back to work on the 17.

I have a 2007 toyota corrolla. I finished my antibotics today and was told that today was my last dose. So everything is starting to work out. I see my pcp next week for follow up. I go for my bood work on Sat,I was supposed to have it done today but I forgot. I am starting to feel better now not having that breathing problem and my appitete is back to normal. Does anyone knows if your suppose to stay away from shellfish or shrimp after thyroid surgery even if its partial because of the iodine? I forgot to ask my doc about this because someone at work mention it to me before surgery so I don't know if its true about it. I am starting to get stir crazy at home as I am so used to being busy. I have my brother,sister-inlaw and the kids coming over this weekend for the end of summer bbq get to together so hopefully that will help.

CONGRATS on the pathology and so sorry about those IV drugs still .. geez, not something to mess with at all (the lungs!!).

What type of car was it ?? That was just awful .... you were lucky with surgery and the accident!!!!

GOOD deal girl, glad you made the right decision too. =)
I dont even go for a follow up until the 20th, think I am having some symptoms as I want to cry alot, feel  like poop most of the time...LOL..just tired and kind of jittery.  I want to get meds regulated but I know it will take time.
Hope your lungs are clear and you can be done with all that mess tomorrow.
