Dose too high?

Hi guys,
Here is my question for all of you who have been on levo for awhile.  I'm on week 3 of synthroid.  The first week, I did 50mcg and it was too much, I felt really jittery so I cut back to 25 for a week and was feeling pretty good.  But then I thought since the doctor prescribed the 50 I should try it again so about 5 days ago I upped it back to the 50mcg.  The last couple of nights I can't fall asleep, my heart palpitates ( I can hear it beating, thump, thump, thump while I'm laying in bed) and last night I woke up at 1am drenched in sweat and I mean drenched, even the sheets! sorry, gross I know.  Anyways, this to me seems like it might be from the dose being too high.  I don't get my blood checked until 7 weeks but am thinking I should just take the 25mcg for the remaining weeks and see where I'm at after that.
What do you think?
Cindi

Sound good.

The alternate 25/50 will average out to 37.5. That is what i had to do, as I said above.

Hope that works out well and keep us updated.

I emailed the doc.  She said to go down to 25 for a week, then to alternate every day 25, 50, 25, 50 and so on for the following 4 weeks until the test.

You could do that or try 37.5 (1 1/2 tabs).
I had to do that for a few weeks and then went to 50 without a problem. Now I am on 62.5 with no problem, either.
The 50 does seem too high.
You should probably run it by the doctor, too.
