Symptoms before and after HemiThyroidectomy?

Just had Hemithyroidectomy on June 9,2011. Had a cyst on left lobe. It had two nodules and 5 daughter cysts inside.   Removed left lobe.  Having stitches out today. For the past three months have been so tired. For past (1) month have been having memory problems and heart palpatations at strange times during the day and night when at rest (totally relaxed) Hot flashes. I am 54 and menopause in 2006.

Endo says symptoms are unrelated to the thyroid. My hair seems to be falling out more since the surgery or at least I am noticing it more.  My tests before surgery are as follows
TSH  (3rd 1.17 N
T4 FREE  1.1 N
T4 Throxine  7.4  N
T3 Uptake  31  N

Spoke with ENT today who did surgery.  Told him how tired I am, he said unrelated to thyroid he said it had to be stemming from something else. . Ordering Thyroid TSH etc.  tests in 5 weeks to see how 1/2 Thyroid is doing.
Should I be looking more at Menopause ?   Diabetes? Or just balance my checkbook and wait ?

I love when they say this.   I too am thinking of having my lobe removed.  The tests before the surgery are probably quiye different than now.   You may want to see about finding a new Endo that will test you now, or even a regular doc to test you.    You are probably on you way to severe hypothyroidism.  Sometimes the other lobe will kick in to make up for the other lobe but it doesn't sound like this is happening.

It's obvious you are going to need thyroid support.  Sounds like all your symptoms are from being hypo and you may want to get your tests done now.

Do you mean you are diabetic or just wondering?
Everything you mentioned could be stress, esp with surgery looming, now post-op. Is it cancer or do you know? Again, stress wondering.
