Symptoms of hypothyroid but told test results not low enough to be hypothyroid even though I have all the symptoms

Anyone else had a problem with this?  I went from being a very high energy, slim person to an overweight, low energy person who found she became "bored" all the time.  I wouldn't go so far to say I became depressed but I found when I was out doing things with friends, things I would normally be passionate about and highly interested in, I felt bored & disconnected.  It's like I'd want to go home but then when I got home I was bored there anyway.  The weight gain & low energy was unexplainable, my diet & exercise routine hadn't altered from the past.  I still continued to exercise, despite having low energy, yet kept gaining weight.  I had been to two doctors & both tested me for thyroid related disorder yet both told me the results were fine (but they didn't show me the results).  Then someone suggested I find out what the result was & I discovered the result was low, but not low enough for your average doctor to rate low enough to indicate a problem.  I was appalled that they didn't seem to care they had not resolved my problem & had not told me my results were low.  I went to a third doctor & told him about the results & he thought it was crazy that the other doctors couldn't see I had a hyperthyroid problem re the symptoms combined with the test results.  Did anyone else have this problem with being diagnosed?  How low do you think your results need to be to indicate a problem if you also have the symptoms?

Touble getting diagnosed? What almost 5 years and 8 doctors-yah I had problems getting diagnosed.  My numbers also are low normal, but my thyroid is enlarged and has multiple nodules, though last Ultra sound seemed to show left lobe is clear now.  I just gave up after a while at first, then my hubby started getting mad at me for not getting help so I went in search for a doctor who would listen to me as well as look at the numbers-hard to find but I did.  Now am an 88 mg of Synthriod and feel better, not great yet, but better.

you mean HYPOthyroid, right?  (you said hyper in your post)  That is levels of T3/T4 that are low.

You can have all the symptoms of hypothyroidism if your levels are low of normal.  Why? - because your body is unique like most bodies out there, and you were used to normal or high of normal levels.  As long as your pulse wasn't ever racing or you were jittery all the time before you turned low... you SHOULD be on something to boost your thyroid back up.  Iodized salt, seafood, seaweed, supplements, apricots, and one of the many brands of levothyroxine or Armour.  A good doc will tweak the strengths for you a little, but IF it turns out that this is solely a low-of-normal thyroid issue, you'd probably only need about 0.025 or 0.05 mg levothyroxine per day.  Very low doses.

I don't have weight gain, but to tired can't do exercise, symptoms of Hipo. Because I have high titer of antibodies TPO (mor then 1000), and multinodular thyroid, TSH of 2.9, Dr. Lupo says may be is worth a try and start medication. I went to so many doctors (first cardiology, then family doctor, third went to a ENDO, last internal medicine)  trying to understand what was happening to me, that's how I found I had Hashimoto (family doctor). But I found out too that I had positive ANA's (marker for autoimune diseases), so I'm waiting for more analises (autoimune, internal medicine). No one wants to medicate me yet, they want to rule out something else (ENDO and internal medicine). So I need to wait. Go to another doctor, find an explanation, is what I did, I'm not going to stop until a feel myself again. When the values are in normal range, they don't treat, is really hard  to except, but I think my ENDO wants to be sure that's why he sent me to a specialist of autoimune desiases .

Do you happen to know what your TSH lab results #'s are?

I was symptomatic at TSH 2.8 and at 1.3 most symptoms disappeared but a few others pop in below 1.3 for me!
